Show Time – Day 2

Sep 21, 2015

Day two of the show proved that we are in full effect – our exhibitors and visitors are all in fine form and we saw some great events take place on the show floor.

The morning started with a bang – partly thanks to our great coffee exhibitors who are keeping much of the floor fuelled – but also because our sporting nature was on display. Sunrise’s sports commentator Mark Beretta came down to take part in our industry’s kind of sports, in this instance the Great Aussie Pie Comp. Mark brought the Sunrise crew with him to witness his first foray into pie judging, and we can’t wait to see it on the show tomorrow. Mark’s stint on the floor was followed by another guest judge from Channel 10, sports reporter Adam Howe, who also donned a guest judge’s jacket and he was walked through the steps of how to look for the country’s best pie, something he took very seriously – spending over an hour at the stand! Another star spot on the show floor came by way of New Zealand’s The Bachelor! He wasn’t looking for love however, but rather products for his paleo business.

Keeping with the healthy competition theme of today, we witnessed the final day of the Nestle Golden Chef’s Hat Award taking place, with celebratory drinks to be held this evening, and this afternoon also saw the Best New Product Award winners announced in a ceremony hosted by our own Event Director Minnie Constan. View the full list of winners.

With so much action in the last two days, it’s difficult to believe we’ve still got another fabulous two days of new activities ahead of us – but we do, and we can’t wait!
