Mrs Roz Kaldor-Aroni is General Manager of the Ice Cream Division at Pure Foods Tasmania, responsible for manufacturing the brands, Elato Gelato and Cashew Creamery as well as Product Development for new flavours and contract packing for external clients. She is originally from Sydney and has a law degree, science degree (including studies in food science) and an MBA all from UNSW. Prior to joining PFT, Roz worked as a lawyer in two large law firms, In-house Legal Counsel at a biotech research company and at Telstra where she then took on a commercial role as General Manager in Procurement. Roz then co-founded a not for profit called AUSiMED – Australia/Israel Medical Research during which time she started making gelato as a hobby. Roz’s passion for gelato began when she learned that Gelato allowed her to combine her love of desserts with her love of maths. She then trained in Gelato in Melbourne at William Angliss Institute and then at the Carpigiani Gelato University followed with training in ice cream with Prof Doug Goff at Guelph University in Canada. She was keen to make gelato that could scale so she could donate funds from every tub to OzHarvest. So she launched Elato Gelato into supermarkets, selling into over 1,000 stores and soon after, sold Elato to Pure Foods Tasmania as well as joining them in her current role.
