The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition

What’s more Aussie than a classic meat pie? For over three decades, the Official Great Aussie Pie Competition has celebrated the humble pie—and its flaky pastry cousins—as true national treasures. And in 2025, the competition returns to Fine Food Australia for another epic showdown.

Now in its 37th year, this fiercely loved industry competition brings together experts from across the country, all here to find the best pie of 2025. 

Hosted by the Great Aussie Pie Council and judged live on the show floor, the competition is more than a tradition, it’s a launchpad for recognition for bakeries who are doing it well. 

Visitors can witness the action up close as expert judges put Australia’s best pies, sausage rolls, and pastries to the taste test—critiquing everything from flavour and texture to presentation and consistency.
