Rodney Mom

A career of over 25 years in the industry, Rodney started from humble beginnings at 16, starting with apprenticeship in airline catering.
His Passion for cooking grew quickly, travelling up to the Great Barrier Reef to cook at Australia’s Premier Hotel location Hayman Island in Northern Queensland.
He spent his following years travelling in New Zealand and Sydney working across a variety of venues before coming back to Melbourne to be part of the opening team at Rockpool Bar & Grill over two decades ago.
It was there that Rodney was able to hone his craft, being able to work alongside some of the world’s best chefs and learn about the best ingredients Australia has to offer. This relationship with producers led him to appreciate the role of local and sustainable produce within the community and industry.
After a 12 year hiatus, starting a family, opening multiple cafes and businesses with wife Jessica, Rodney has now taken the position of Executive Chef of Rockpool Bar & Grill Melbourne, trusted to lead the Restaurant into its 20th year and beyond.
