Rod Fowler is the Director of Food Industry Foresight who provide market data and insights across the foodservice industry. He is here as a Food Industry Futurist. He has had an international career in the development and application of technology, across international banking, border control systems for various governments, plant manufacturing automation for the largest print groups in Europe, ecommerce in both the private and public sector, and more recently consulting on technology and innovation in the hospitality sector. His career started in the early 1980’s at an IBM Software Laboratory in Sweden – before personal computers, the internet or even mobile phones, so he has personally been involved in the rolling out of several major waves of innovation in his career.
