Throughout the last few months, we have worked hard consulting the market and shaping an event that would be tailored to every food business’ needs post-shutdowns in a COVID-19 safe environment. Every industry has had its own struggles, with our own food industry being hit HARD.
Due to the escalating situation in Melbourne and with no clear certainty around controlled gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to not run Fine Food Australia 2020. The next edition of the event is now due to take place from 6 – 9 September 2021, in Sydney at the ICC Sydney.
We didn’t make this decision lightly; there are multiple industries that have relied on us running this year, however we know this is right for our customers and the safest decision to make at this point. Our highest priority as event organisers is the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors, speakers, contractors and staff, and at this stage, despite our best efforts, we do not believe that the conditions are right to run Fine Food Australia 2020.
The food industry has been one of the hardest hit in the last few days and months. We have been inspired to see businesses pivot and transform, and it is a credit to what an adaptable and can-do industry that we love and work in. We are seeing this again in Lockdown 2.0 in Victoria, and our thoughts and well wishes are truly with every business in these challenging times.
We are proud to be the premium event platform to bring the food community together for 36 years, and we want to continue the journey with you for many years to come. There are many ways to keep in touch – we have launched a brand-new digital content destination, Hospitality Unites, that is supporting the foodservice industry through the various stages of lockdown and recovery across Australia. By sharing stories and learning from each other we know will see the restoration of our once vibrant and diverse food scene.
We will also be offering the food community a brand-new digital Product Directory, transforming Fine Food from a physical event into an online business-to-business resource package, 365 days a year. It will facilitate business remotely between our 92,000+ trade buyers and our 1,000+ exhibitors to continue to connect and share. Think of it as an online exhibition!
Our social channels will keep you up to date with our latest news and offers, and we will continue to share with you our journey towards a Fine Food Australia like never before in 2021 at the ICC, Sydney. If you would like to hear from us, please feel free to subscribe to our communications.
We look forward to seeing you soon online, and in person in Sydney in September 2021.
