About Tawnya Bahr
Tawnya Bahr is a culinary entrepreneur with expertise covering many disciplines throughout her 21 years in the food industry, making her one of the leading food consultants in the country.
A gastronomic adventurer and food curator, Tawnya’s love for food and cooking extends beyond the kitchen to production and agriculture. As a consultant, chef, and founding partner of bespoke food tour company Straight To The Source, she uses her culinary experience as a platform for promoting and supporting sustainable practices and local producers.
With multiple recognitions for championing a thriving food industry, Tawnya is the winner of Gault&Millau’s 2018 Culinary Advocate of the Year and TAFE’s 2017 Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship award. A Le Cordon Bleu trained chef; Tawnya also supports the industry as a regional food and bakery judge for the Royal Agricultural Society, a professional restaurant reviewer and a current committee member of the Australian Culinary Federation.
Her journey into food began in an unexpected place – working for a software company in San Francisco as their international sales and marketing manager. Upon relocating to Australia she recognised that her business skills could translate to the food industry that she always wanted to be a part of, so went on to found the Condiment Connoisseur, a food production and gourmet distribution company.
Tawnya is driven by her passion for the people behind our food. Bringing growers, producers, chefs and patrons together with her knowledge of the local and global food landscape to nourish a thriving food industry.

Cathy Goodwin has been involved with hospitality equipment selection for more than 20 years. She’s passionate about choosing the right equipment for the job, and making sure maintenance, service and safety keep it running well for many years. Her specialties at Fine Food will be: Cafe Equipment, Food Displays (hot & cold), Shelving & Storage, and Refrigeration.
Sam Tait has worked in hospitality since 2000, covering equipment and produce, hospitality operations and funding. He has particular experience with large-scale kitchen equipment and design, from single cafe operators to government institutions. His specialties at Fine Food will be Stoves, Ovens, Fryers and Cooking Equipment.
Lorenzo Inserra has been a hands-on cafe owner in Melbourne, and now works directly with coffee machine suppliers. He sees the latest models as they become available, and is an expert in choosing the right machine for volume, speed and market segment. His specialties at Fine Food will be Coffee Machines & Grinders, Milk Systems and Beverage Machines.
Jim Quinn has more than 30 years’ experience with Pizza equipment – from conventional pizza ovens to conveyor systems, refrigeration, kitchen fitouts, exhaust and the needs of high-volume business and franchise. His specialties at Fine Food will be Pizza Systems, Ovens and Cooking Equipment.
